We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technician; this is an exciting opportunity and would be ideally suited to someone who can deal with new challenges and adapt to the demands of the business. This role would include line managing our onsite IT Support Technicians and dealing with day-to-day third line escalations.

Senior IT Technician : Permanent Post 

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 3:30pm & Friday 7:30am - 3:00pm 

Annual Salary: £29,577- £33,782 (SCP Range 25-30)

The Role: 

 

L.E.A.D. IT Services was incorporated in 2010 and joined L.E.A.D. Academy Trust in September 2016. Over the years we have expanded significantly increasing both our team and the number of customers accessing our services. We specialise in supporting the education sector working with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and specialist schools. As well as L.E.A.D. Academy Trusts 25 schools we also support many more trusts nationwide. 

 

Our office is based at The Old Post Office in Derby City Centre, which is easily accessible via public transport. The open plan office is bright and airy with high ceilings and a fully equipped kitchen with break out areas. With many of the team being here from the start and lots who have joined along the way, this small knowledgeable, friendly team really is great to be a part of. 

 

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technician; this is an exciting opportunity and would be ideally suited to someone who can deal with new challenges and adapt to the demands of the business. This role would include line managing our onsite IT Support Technicians and dealing with day-to-day third line escalations. 


 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Resource management of second line technicians.


  • Line management of second line technicians.


  • Maintains, supports and undertakes troubleshooting and diagnostics on servers, software, hardware including network infrastructure as well as Hyper-V, VMWare, 365 Management, Azure, Back-ups and MIS systems.


  • Applies significant practical and procedural experience of a range of ICT systems and software packages to deliver IT support across L.E.A.D.


  • Manages third-line escalations from first and second line technicians.


  • Supports adherence to IT policies, including those relating to security, safeguarding and internet usage.


  • Provides advice and support, as well as system and software training to a range of stakeholders.


  • Demonstrates a willingness to attend appropriate training and development courses.


  • Works regularly with external providers in order to get support on identified issues and to feedback improvements.

 

To be successful, you will have: 

 

  • Ability to line manage a team of people and support their development.


  • High level of oral and written communication skills.


  • Experience of providing third level support.


  • Experience of managing servers, software, hardware including network infrastructure as well as Hyper-V, VMWare, 365 Management, Azure, Back-ups and MIS systems.


  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively.


  • Understanding of IT and data legislation.


  • Recognised IT qualification and/or significant current experience at a high level.


  • Be a self-starter, with an ability to work independently and use your own initiative to overcome obstacles.


  • Be able to work in ways that promote equality, inclusion and diversity.
